Key Note Speaker/Performer: The War and Treaty – Since forming in 2014, The War and Treaty have amassed a following as eclectic as their sound itself, a bluesy but joyful fusion of Southern soul, gospel, country, and rock-and-roll. In the past two years, the duo have collaborated with Emmylou Harris, toured with Al Green, shared stages with Brandi Carlile and Elvis Costello, performed at the 2020 Grammys, and are set to begin touring with John Legend this summer.
Transforming trauma into catharsis has become the pair’s calling card. Michael was just 13 when he and his mom got on a bus in Cleveland and took it as far as their escape money would carry them from his abusive, alcoholic father. Michael will share his powerful story of strength and resilience with our community #AtTheTable, and we hope you’ll join us as we work together to influence a culture where abuse is not tolerated and all people feel safe and valued in their relationships.
Tickets will be available for purchase in August at www.safeharborsc.org.
